California Senate Bill 366, introduced by Senator Smallwood-Cuevas, requires the Department of General Services to contract with the UCLA Labor Center to conduct a study on the impact of artificial intelligence on worker well-being, job quality, job types, different population groups, and state revenues. Under Section 12815.5 of the Government Code, the department must submit a report of the study's findings to the Legislature no later than June 1, 2027, and must file a notice with the Secretary of State indicating the submission date. The report must comply with Section 9795 of the Government Code. The provisions of Section 12815.5 are automatically repealed upon submission of the report to the Legislature.
