Online Internet Safety; certain disclosures related to conversational AI services; require
This Georgia bill amends Chapter 5 of Title 39 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, which covers online internet safety, to impose new obligations on operators of conversational AI services. Operators must make certain disclosures to users about their AI services, take steps to limit actions by those systems that could harm minors, and provide privacy tools to users. Operators are also required to adopt a protocol governing how a conversational AI service responds when a user expresses suicidal ideation or intent to self-harm. The Attorney General is empowered to enforce these requirements. The bill includes exceptions to its requirements, provides definitions for key terms, and repeals any conflicting existing laws.
